TUMIDO hunde
release date: february 24th, 2011
After their 2008 album "Orgy," Austrian duo TUMIDO present their third release.
With "Hunde", Bernhard
Breuer and Gigi Gratt demonstrate impressively that it is still possible to walk off the
beaten track in the vast lands of experimental instro noise rock.
Some bands defy all
categories, dogmas and conventions, and just do their own, inimitable thing.
Tumido,
from Ottensheim and Wien, undoubtedly belong in the realm of these intelligent,
innovative players. Two highly independent instrumentalists, Bernhard Breuer (as
known from Metalycée and Electro Guzzi) and Gigi Gratt (you who have seen with Ni
and Braaz) follow their own vision - a vision that includes almost every single style in
modern musical, and thus eludes common genre definitions.
With TUMIDO, everything's
fair if it serves their music. The main ingredients of this Austrian duo's sound banquet
are rock (of the noisier kind), electronic sound art and improvisation, a pinch of jazz,
and lots and lots of groove. "Hunde" is an intense and atmospheric listening experience.
Enthusiasts of experimental and avantgarde sound will love it.
