the compromise is not possible

is the title of an hour-long composition written for female voice, drums, electric guitar and organ by Slobodan Kajkut, an independent contemporary composer from Serbia. It premiered in 2005 in Graz as a commissioned piece for "Hörfest", a festival for contemporary music.

Written to be performed at churches only, it is a combination of traditional contemporary composition techniques with Rock and Heavy Metal: Harmonies, rythmic changes and silence meets distorted guitars, feedback orgies and drums inspired by Speed and Death Metal.
Three years after its premiere at St. Andrä Church in Graz, it was reperfomed by the same musicians at the same location and recorded and released as a double LP by the austrian independent label Wire Globe Recordings.

For all of you, who wonder who Slobodan is: "The Striggles" - rings a bell? he's part of them, among other bands like "Jubbooko sa Negrass", "Mizar" and "Betty Blue".

On november 4th 2009 "the compromise is not possible" will be performed at the parish church (Stadtpfarrkirche) of Linz at 20:30.

EGOTRIP maybe can be described best as minimalistic electro-punkrock. simple frequencies and analog generated kickdrums passing a system of different filter- and distortion-devices, resulting in a steady 'fraying' sound: the trial and error priniciple of rythmisized noise. no broadband-white-noise but distortion and modulations of certain frequencies and loops are the main approach - freely adapted from kevin martin and mr oizo. krisi from sensual love did the vocal part on 'i'm all lost in the shopping mall'.

Elektronik. Nicht unbedingt mein Fachgebiet, und ich bin mir auch nicht sicher, ob ich mir hier ein fachmännisches Urteil erlauben kann. Wie dem auch sei, auf fachmännische Urteile wird geschissen. Fachmänner haben keine Ahnung. Es gibt da diese Platte von KID 606 mit dem Namen 'P.S.: I Love You', an die fühle ich mich oftmals erinnert. Qualitativ gesehen ist die EGOTRIP-Platte sicher ein hochwertiges Release, eines unter vielen anderen hochwertigen Veröffentlichungen aus dem Hause Interstellar Records aus Linz/Österreich. Leider ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit hoch, dass auch dieser Release wieder mal nicht die nötige Aufmerksamkeit bekommen wird. Wer das uncool findet oder was auch immer, der soll mal auf interstellarrecords.at vorbeischauen und sich das MP3 von EGOTRIP anhören. Bei einem der Songs gibt es &ueml;brigens eine Guest Appearance von Krise von SENSUAL LOVE, die ja schon von der Split-Platte mit ANALENA bekannt sein sollten.(08/10)

Egotrip is a one man ego elektro thing based in Linz, Austria. I don't know if people are able to spend attention to that record, because I really can't. I played this record on 33 rpm and it was a mess, playing it on 45 rpm it gets better. But still, I do not get the point. The cover of the record is ok though. (ad)

Ins letzte Kapuzine leider nicht mehr geschafft, hiermit nachträglich eine Nachrede zu Andre Zogholys letztem Longplayer, dafür mit Lob an dem ungemein fetten Auftritt am Interstellar-Festival Ende März. Wer dabei war, der/dem sitzt die Überdosis Bass vielleicht jetzt noch im Nacken und kann vielleicht ein wenig nachfühlen, was sich in den Rillen des Interstellar Release no.7 ungefähr abspielt. Simple Frequenzen und analog generierte Kickdrums (oder auch vocals von Krise auf 'i'm all lost in the shopping mall'), die durch verschiedene Filter und Distortion-Geräte geschickt werden, ergeben einen donnernden Stream in Friction, der nur von sich selbst aufgehalten werden könnte und dies in manchen Momenten auch zu versuchen scheint, funkt dann aber nicht und somit rockt die von Patrick Pulsinger produzierte Platte einfach aber bewusst beschwert weiter und erinnert dann und wann an Electronicat, COH und Mr.Oizo.
