the compromise is not possible
is the title of an hour-long composition written for female voice, drums, electric guitar and organ by Slobodan Kajkut, an independent contemporary composer from Serbia. It premiered in 2005 in Graz as a commissioned piece for "Hörfest", a festival for contemporary music.
Written to be performed at churches only, it is a combination of traditional contemporary composition techniques with Rock and Heavy Metal: Harmonies, rythmic changes and silence meets distorted guitars, feedback orgies and drums inspired by Speed and Death Metal.
Three years after its premiere at St. Andrä Church in Graz, it was reperfomed by the same musicians at the same location and recorded and released as a double LP by the austrian independent label Wire Globe Recordings.
For all of you, who wonder who Slobodan is: "The Striggles" - rings a bell? he's part of them, among other bands like "Jubbooko sa Negrass", "Mizar" and "Betty Blue".
On november 4th 2009 "the compromise is not possible" will be performed at the parish church (Stadtpfarrkirche) of Linz at 20:30.

biography:
these 4 guys from rennes (france) are crazy noise rock. made us think of bands like JESUS LIZARD, DON CABALLERO or US MAPLE - with 2 guitars, drums and vocals, frantic, (dis)harmonic, melodic, rock. still it's pretty hard to compare them to anybody as for their unique sound/style.
already around since 1996, they originally started as a duo of 2 accoustic guitars - but not for long as a drummer and a singer very quickly joined in, and after an involuntary hiatus of more than one year the strings-section decided to go electric - and this is it. still.
they have released 2 albums so far: the first one -
'rather drunk than quantum' was the one that got us hooked back in 2003, the second just recently in spring 2005. and both together with xavier, who is doing PERTE ET FRACAS records now and this is the guy we are going to work together for our baby - a vinyl version of both of their albums, a double LP with the comic books that came along with both of the CD versions and the great artwork by EM all inclusive.
